ZoomSafer Launches at 2010 International CES to Prevent Distracted Driving

Chatty Kathys, texting Toms transformed from potential killers by new software

LAS VEGAS, NV – ZoomSafer, the leading provider of innovative and configurable solutions to prevent distracted driving, announced today the launch of the commercial version of its smartphone software at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show.

Introduced as beta software in September 2009, ZoomSafer was created to help North American motorists break some of their most dangerous driving habits. Simple to use software that promotes responsible and legal use of mobile phones while driving, ZoomSafer ensures phone calls are connected in a hands-free manner and simultaneously eliminates the dangerous temptation to text or email.

“After months of hard work and tremendous feedback from thousands of beta testers,” said ZoomSafer co-founder Matt Howard, “we are thrilled to provide consumers and corporations with a commercial version of ZoomSafer that’s easily configurable to meet a variety of needs and help people practice safe driving habits.”

ZoomSafer uses GPS in combination with client software installed on smartphones to automatically determine when a user is moving faster than 15 mph. Once triggered, ZoomSafer locks a phone’s keypad and screen and remains engaged until the user is finished driving and turns the program off.  Among a wide variety of configurable features, ZoomSafer suppresses inbound text and emails and can automatically reply on your behalf informing others that you’re driving and that you’ll get back to them once you reach your destination safely.

Because mobile phones are critical to personal and business productivity, ZoomSafer seamlessly integrates the use of hands-free services so users can make and receive phone calls in a safe and legal manner.

ZoomSafer is commercially available on BlackBerry devices and is in beta for select Windows Mobile devices beginning on January 7th. Users can download the software from www.zoomsafer.com and soon from the BlackBerry App World and Handmark mobile application stores.  ZoomSafer will be available for Android phones in early 2010.

For qualified customers ZoomSafer is offering a free BlackBerry or Windows Mobile smartphone pre-equipped with ZoomSafer software.  For more information and to sign up for ZoomSafer today, please visit www.zoomsafer.com.
